a Superhero Sunman Design Concept ( as emailed to Woz 15/12/00 ) / by CK :

Here's one concept I've thought of : for web site owner feedback , there's a barrier between visitor and the site they're visiting . Having had a web site up and running for about 9 months , I find I'm not getting much feedback . People have that barrier of formally " introducing " themselves whether by E-mail , or message boards or whatever . There's also the number of steps that must be jumped through to register your thoughts , and well web surfers are often also in a hurry to be browsing about , flicking in and out of web sites .

So my idea is this - when a visitor clicks into your site , what happens is this , a little sketch pad pops up over a portion of the web site screen ( like it's mobilely embedded there - rather than like one of those pop-up windows ) , and on this the visitor can , anominously hastily type ( jot ) down his thoughts about your site . Then this sketch pad can be clicked in a certain spot to reduce it to a small icon size , that when clicked again pops up to it's former size . Info typed on it can scroll down below the actual size of area of the note pad . Also it should be able to be dragged , the full size pad , or the icon for it , anywhere on the screen , and then reappear in that position whenever a new page on that web site is accessed ( excepting flash pages , the like ) . Also possibly the visitor himself could be able to adjust the border edges size of it at will . All these notes would be collected by some means via the program that creates this feature , and at the end of the day , or week , all these notes can be looked over . It's quick , fast , easy , free of commitment . It aids the flow of information, and helps the web site owner improve his site, and make it's experience better for his visitors .
