Chess
New feature - Super Chess ( the E-book may be updated ) . INTRO and Game Play rules as of Nov. 4 / 00 ) : NOTE - some typo errors and omissions . Forgot to add that vanquished player's pieces also remain in place on the remaining active Home Zone boards as obstacles to go around or capture if in the way , or a player wants to assume that spot for a chess piece . See news re making game parts . Or see yellow print section bottom below .

YOU MIGHT SKIP ( READ LATER ) BELOW NOTE AND GO SEE THE ZONE BOARDS FURTHER BELOW .
Sept. 23rd / 2001 note - The purest contest in Super Chess as say for instance between three or four players , would be a blinded version - that is , each player would not know the identity of his / her opponents , and each player would have in turn their moves conveyed to the other players via such a means say such as electronically sent , since by this means player alliances as might develop during game play would be based solely on the play , the cleverness and brilliance of each player , and each's ability to sway the course of play in their favor ( like getting one or more of their opponents to be drawn into an offence against another player via positioning of his , her pieces in relation to those of the other players , such as that would strongly dictate this direction of the game play , as it'll be , at least seemingly , the most favorable course of action for all such players drawn into such an alliance ) . Caution needing to be tread along the way , as the positioning of players' pieces during the course of such a gambit , exactly how all the pieces become distributed , could inadvertantly cause one's own position to become susceptible .
Added comments : In a nutshell , such blinded play would not be based on the clash of players' " personalities " except by way of the personalities displayed in the play of one's pieces ( how each player likes and reacts to such " personalities " of play ) , in contrast to say like what can happen in the game like Sorry , where any one player can be collectively picked on ( repeatably sent back to start ) , on a personality based bias and not a relative weakness of game play and positioning bias , vis a vis the other players . Anytime more than two players are engaged in suchlike game contests , such a condition applies . It not only applies to Superchess , but also to games like Scrabble , and even Monopoly , where success in the game can be highly affected by passions based on personality . For instance , a far behind trailing third player in Scrabble for instance could decide to throw a wrench or bonaza towards one of the remaining players based on this . Not knowing the players ids would likely reduce this urge to throw the game one way or the other , since that trailing player would not know who to favor ... based on personality , though that player could still well decide to engage in such like play in any case , happening to like to favor a comeback , or blowaway , or a "getback " ( re some player whose moves in the game had adversely affected the game for him , or been dumb or something ) . In Scrabble , this urge would be further reduced , if along with blinded play , was added the element of the overall winner being determined by culmative overall points scoring over several games . However , Superchess like these games , can be played just as well face to face , and a brilliant or very good player , can very well overcome any such possible personality biases by his / her game , and strong counter offensive , play .
I mention the above notes , just since Chess is a game that's perhaps the most highly regarded as a game based by and large on sheer skill of ability , so I thought that I'd include notes on that version of play of Superchess that would most sheerly depend on skill of play .
Super Chess
Game concepts conceived by Carman N. Keddy c/2000
Example of various color players' HOME ZONE boards . With matching color , player's home zone chess pieces . See Hyperspace concept below .

...THE HYPERSPACE....

Here's a four player set-up . The HYPERSPACE REGION exists as a hyper-spacial bridge between each and every home zone board !! One's own color set pieces can hyperjump off one's own zone board onto any other zone board across the hyperspace - just continuing the normal chess movement of that piece from one's own board onto the foreign zone board .
TO ENVISION PLAY ACROSS THE HYPERBOARD - from your zone , or from any zone board your pieces are currently on , all you need do is imagine that zone board you're on , up flush against any one of the other zone boards so that they allign to create a normal chess board configeration of alternating light and dark squares . You just need to imagine all your possibilities against each opposing board , but you can only " join " up , to move your piece across the hyperspace onto that zone board , to any one other* particular zone board for any particular move . ( Other* than the zone board your piece ( any of them ) is currently on - you can also keep that piece ( any of your pieces ) on the zone board it's currently on , and move about that zone board - it all depends on your strategies of attack and defence ) .
Play in Super Chess is complexified in that you need to try to conjure together allegiances in any given attack against any particular opponent - whether by circumstancial happening , the pieces just happen to array themselves in a favorable manner , or by persausion , you or a fellow contestant set up the conditions of attack on another opponent as such conditions ensue during the normal course of play . In the later situation though , caution is warranted since you need to consider the positioning of your own players , per the remaining players , once any particular opponent tis vanquished . Also the same strategy could be ensued upon yourself out of that , if the defending party can turn the tide , and create favorable co-attack conditions against you . Hence why the game's called Super Chess . It takes super skill and savvy - both in game play and phychology.
Super Chess play however does need a few modifications pertaining to the movement of chess pieces , in order for it to otherwise " work " . See the Super Chess E-book rules for these - on the home page ( will be adding on the rules to INTRO part ) . Also particular rules when any zone board's King is vanquished !! ( For what happens then re the continuing contest between the remaining players , and what happens to the vanquished player's pieces , and home zone territory . There's a need to constrict the overall " chess play space " then , to begin narrowing down the play possibilities so end games can result more quickly . )
Super
chess is an original version of chess I came up some time ago now
. Thought I'd provide it as an extra plus .
Something you'll get nowhere else . Gratis . I'm throwing it out
there , and you can work out
any bugs in it . You'll need to fashion out the zone boards - you
might use the images of ones
provided on the Super Chess page on the web site - just save the
images of them as files , and
do a color printout of them . Use these as templates for the zone
boards - you might stick a
hard surface beneath each , shaped to fit the size of each zone
board . Then all you need do is
get a few sets of chess pieces , then dye or overcolor them ,
each set ( the chess pieces for
any one player - which normally would be a white or black set of
pieces ) with a color to MATCH
the respective zone boards - red , yellow , pink , blue . Or make
your own special color zone
boards , and matching color chess piece sets .
