A segment from my first full written screenplay REAL REAL GONE - an action misadventure romance drama-comedy .
Jake sees Kim's expression inexplicably change from vacant idleness to nervous alarm . Seeing Jake seeing her , she smiles quirkily quick back upon him as if it was nothing , but Jake notices her gaze returning to a table across the exclusive restaurant behind him .
Jake :
Okay , what is it ?!
Jake twists right around on his seat , looking in the direction Kim's gaze had been . He hones in on the blond haired , exquisite ivory Armani suited man , now staring right back directly on Kim , trying , not quite succeeding , to exclude the irksome intrusion of Jake now in his line of sight . Kim is trying to shade her face in her hands , not realizing that the man has now spotted her . Jake squirms back round , and leans in to Kim .
Jake :
( That ) Man over there . He bothering you ? That it ?!
Kim :
Didn't want to be seen by ... Oh ( clipped ) , he's spotted me .
Jake :
( leaning in even closer )
Who ?? Who , the blazes is he ? He bothering you , I could mm , say hello .
( now quirkily grinning )
Kim :
My husband . O .. we're separated .. It's not like that ... .
I've filed for divorce .
Jake :
When'd you been planning to tell me this , huhn ?
Jipes !! Married .. !Knew there had to be a ...
Jake's interrupted as Kim gestures for him to hush , while directing his attention to over his shoulder . The man has broken away from his two male table mates , obviously businessmen - one a middle aged oriental . Is closing in to within breathing distance of them , the man's gaze honed on Kim .
Peter ( Mulholme ) :
Kim !! What a great surprise meeting you here !
( then as a kind of distasteful after thought )
Who's your ... , escort ?
Kim :
Peter . He's not my humm escort , he's .. he's a , a friend .
Jake :
( ..thrusting in )
Hello .. . Jake Daniels . Name's Jake .. Daniels ...
Offering his hand , with reservation , which Peter blindly ignores .
Peter :
My , but you look ravishing , radiant . More than ever .
My God , you are a dish .
Kim :
Peter , stop it ! Now .
Peter :
Who'd you say your friend was ?
Jake :
Jake Dani...
Kim :
( cutting into , to make the point )
Jake Daniels . He's a police detective !
Peter :
Humble policeman huhn ??
You realize what a gem you have here , ..Jook ?
Jake :
That's Jake , alright ! Mind taking your hand off the lady ?!
Kim :
It's alright Jake ! Peter .. I believe your guests are
getting impatient . Such important looking guests .. ?
Peter :
( relunctant to break loose )
Yes , you are right . As always .
Mustn't overstay my welcome .
Nice meeting you , Chuck .
Oh , did I mention ? Kim here has got expensive tastes ... ?
Jake :
Names ...
Half rising , now thoroughly disgusted and disgruntled . But Jake's bumped back into seat , as Peter leans in , and kisses Kim on the lips to Jake's and Kim's surprise . At the gall .
Peter :
You're not still serious about going through with it ( the divorce ) ?
It's so ... unnecessary .
Kim :
Not here ! I won't discuss this here .
Jake :
( now .. standing up )
The lady wants you to leave .. . Now !
Note : Jake originally envisioned as a Richard Dreyfuss like type of character . Kim as a Kim Bassinger like type of character .

Note that my first four screenplays complete a kind of evolution cycle of exploration as pertains to the hero / antihero theme . Each also , though very different in nature from each other , have a very strong cental spine romantic relationship . There's also strong subtextual themes , motifs , and compulsively enveloping environments and moodscapes unique to each .
Also music and soundtrack is deeply immersed into the fabric of each. Again each's yet distinctive in nature , tone , vibe , music types , style.
There's also much more ethnic inclusion found within these stories than might be indicated by the exerpt shown above . For instance there's a major ( good guy ) black character in Real Real Gone , and as well there's several other significant characters of diverse ethnic , and character nature , makeup .
Also much substance , complexity , participation , re the female leads .
One theme and goal of mine is to be culturally and universally inclusive .
Future envisioned projects have very much different subject matters including a Speilbergish like space adventure ( ET ish ) romp .
