INSTALMENT ONE
Once I get through to the end of the first instalment of this novel , I'll be considering offering the next instalment as a fee-based downloadable file . Like Stephen King has already done , this initial foray into the concept of a web available e-novel is likely to be done on the " honor " basis , and like Mr. King's previously established pay by instalment model , likely cost will be relatively nominal - something like one dollar U.S. .
WHY bother with the novel when the SUNMAN Comic Book Prequel Issue One roughly parallels the same story , albeit rather in an image based way ? Because the two are complementary to one another and the novel will serve to more extensively broaden the scope of the story . Yes a picture tells a thousand words , but there's at least another thousand behind the scenes that cannot be seen - words inside the creative mind most familiar with the story being told - those hidden subtexts , subtleties . Thoughts inside the characters , the effects on them of their surrounding environment , world , characters , physical nusances like the heat of the sun beating down on them - more like " being there " yourself , inside SUNMAN's world . Comic and novel mesh together to give you the maximium experience ( these now , and later on , these augmented by the addition of the moving image , and audible , forms of expression of this world .
Plus more background facts , and all in all : fresh new stuff that invariably will be swept into this novel form of the story .
CHAPTER ONE
flash forward : Sun and fun , in the San Gabriel Mountains
On a high mountain pass in the San Gabriel Mountains , a mountain range not far from the sprawling metropolis that is Los Angeles , then the Los Angeles of the early Nineteen Seventies , still back in that turbulent 20th millennium century of boiling change and tempered great expectations - at this very moment , a scene frozen in ha-ha , hilarity . Should you happened to have been a human fly on the wind looking down on it at the time . The future parents to be folks of SKY posed in a quirky snapshot post- card so perfectly characteristic of this union of uniguely disparate , stong willed , vibrant , individuals .
Who's SKY ? You're getting way ahead of the story now . Sky was not even a thought right then - to his folks to be , sky now was just a clear blue , brisk canopy of mountain air above and all about them . Whose tug of high wind loosely rifled through their clothes like a pickpocket looking for some hidden riches found deep within their inward hearths of robust being . Seeking to rob them of that heat . Those particular truly rare and invaluable heats found in these two , roughing it out , up in the spectacular heights of the San Gabriels . Two heats yet as sharply differentiated as man and woman - fire , and water as river of steam - a " steam " that was presently bemusedly irked .
The scene : foreground - Gloria Elana Charmaine-Anderson , recent bride . Long , loosely cascading , sandy brown-blonde hair . Elegant . Purple hued eyes that appeared more tantalizingly deep than possible . Verging on tall . Sleek . Normally well composed - but .. , not now , what with her mouth wide agap . Her taken aback look frozen for all time on film . Could you believe that Zack !! He'd pressed the automatic remote for the Nikon camera mounted on a tripod before them just as he'd set her up for that surprised expression , pinging a pebble off her shoulder and making a wry remark about her backside . Though Zack was several steps in back of her , she could yet clearly image him in her mind's eye - she knew he'd be laughily smiling inside , and there'd be a gleaming glimmer in the corner of his powder blue tinted sunglasses that wasn't necessarily all of the sun-above-them's making . The prankster , dreamer , that never fully had grown up , outgrown the impulse , who never would - that was Zack David Anderson , and she had married him ! All her photojournalist protective savvy for perfect self composure in most all situations , and yet she'd married the one guy that could get a rise out of her almost at will , and get it all down on film too !
Likely that was the reason she'd married him . Always full of surprises . Got herself ring tied to her own personal roller coaster . Maybe deep down inside , she was as much a thrill seeker as Zack , despite her considered approach to life , the universe , and all that jazz , and her analytical wyles .

Page length note : Stephen King's e-novel Riding The Bullet in it's Glassbook Reader format runs , for page text content , around 50 letters per line , 28 lines down the page with no space gaps between paragraphs . As the novel above runs close to 100 letters per line , each page of this e-novel ( till I get a better format system ) shall be comprised of DOUBLE PAGES ( each page counting as two pages ) of length of 32 lines of text - roughly equal to each 2 pages of Riding ... , given the general averaging in of paragraph gap spaces as above .

( Note 2 - some of the physical attributes of the characters mentioned below not " set in stone " - things like eye color etc. - but the general allusions made to such features and the overall characters in general , say like striking ( eyes that are ) , though should be considered in large part , aptly , likely to be flexibly " fixed " in association to the characters . If not say striking , using the example above , then say remarkable , the like , in a subsequent revised future edition - something in the same ball park of meaning and allusion . )
